About us
I am Ivelina Nedkova and I am a veterinary technician. For more than 10 years,
I have been volunteering for animals affected by incidents, mainly in our town of Kazanlak, but sometimes
from other cities. In 2014, I formally established the Animal Hope Bulgaria Foundation – Kazanlak, which helps disabled animals ( dogs and cats ) that have suffered from injurings and lost one or two legs, left blind or otherwise disabled. I also actively assist in the municipal shelter in our town. The situation here in Bulgaria is very difficult. There is a law, but no one stands by it. That’s why there are many animals on the streets and almost every day there is an incident with them. Shelters throughout the country are full and overcrowded. It’s hard to live here.
The suffering of animals is evident every day.
In 2019, we purchased a small farm that we want to repair and make it a small shelter for crippled animals.
We are currently repairing it by ourselves (myself and my husband). It is difficult because everything is needed.
There are people who help, but much of the money goes to cover the medical expenses of the animals.Due to the large number of stray dogs and cats, we do constant castration campaigns to reduce the population. There are also many resources required that we often fail to collect and often cannot neuter as much as we want. Shortly, this is my work. Regularly, I’m trying to upload information to the foundation’s website.
I will be glad if you can help our otherwise so beautiful small town of Kazanlak.
